Rutabaga's Halloween Costume Sale

Halloween is notorious for its waste, and we're on a mission to change that.

Our Halloween Costume Sidewalk Sale isn't just about finding the perfect costume – it's about reimagining this holiday to be eco-friendly and conscious.

Date: Saturday, Oct 4
Time: 9AM - ? (tbd)
Location: Rutabaga Toy Library, 3426 Conrad Street, 19129

At Rutabaga, we're dedicated to providing sustainable resources for parents in Philly. This event aligns with our core mission as we offer a range of gently used costumes that have so much more magic left to share. By choosing a costume from us, you're helping divert waste from landfills and giving these costumes a second chance to shine.

Join us for:

  • An assortment of costumes for ages 0-10, with a selection for adults and accessories

  • Enchanting storytime sessions throughout the day and engaging activities – all for free!

  • Contributing to a greener Halloween while having a bewitchingly good time!

Donate Your Costumes: Help us make this event even more special by donating your gently used costumes! Starting this week, drop off your costumes at Rutabaga Toy Library during our open hours. Your donation will play a significant role in making Halloween more sustainable and accessible for everyone.

Making a Difference: All proceeds from the Costume Sidewalk Sale will go directly to our scholarship fund. By participating in the sale, you're not only finding fantastic costumes but also helping families who can't otherwise afford to become toy library members. Join us in creating a more inclusive and joyful community.

Let's rewrite the narrative of Halloween and show that spooky can be sustainable. Your participation in this event is a step towards a more conscious celebration. Together, we can make Halloween both haunting and environmentally friendly!
